How I Went from An Unfulfilled, Overworked Real Estate Investor,

I can personally raise my hand and say I’ve dealt with EVERY ONE of those struggles.
 
And I’ve got the battle wounds to prove it...
Flashback To 2003…
I knew early in my corporate job as a pharmaceutical sales rep that I truly desired financial freedom - and I wasn’t going to achieve that by solely working a 9-5 job.
 
So, I chose to invest in real estate as the vehicle to help me achieve financial freedom.
 
By 2005, I was generating enough monthly cash flow from real estate that I was able to fire my boss and become a full time real estate entrepreneur.
 
I was making great money, I had a staff of 10 people (which I mistakenly thought I needed to feel like I was running a big, productive company – expensive lesson learned!), and I was helping a lot of people buy and sell properties.

And Then Came the Crash…
When the market crashed in late 2007 it completely wiped me out.
 
In my real estate business, I went from a team of 10 people to a team of 1 (just yours truly).
 
But in my heart, I knew I was meant to be an entrepreneur and I had no intentions of going back to a full time corporate job.
 
So, for the next couple of years I gutted it out as a one man show.
 
I handled all the marketing, phone calls, working with buyers and sellers, and all the paperwork that goes into putting deals together.

To be honest, those 2 years kind of sucked...
 
I knew that if I continued to do EVERYTHING on my own, my earning potential would be capped by my own capacity, I’d eventually get burned out, and the business wouldn’t be enjoyable.
It’s All About Perspective...
I truly believe God does everything for a reason. Everyone goes through challenges – that’s life. But it’s all about perspective.
 
When you realize nothing happens to you, it happens for you – you can begin to see the positive in negative events.
 
I’ll be 100% transparent about my challenges, and the “ah ha” moments those challenges led to…
                                              I felt like I was on a real estate hamster wheel. Even after selling hundreds of homes, I didn’t have good systems in place - which meant I was always REACTIVE instead of PROACTIVE in my business. 
And since I wasn’t implementing processes and automation, I was trapped working IN my business - where my day was controlled by who or what needed my attention at the moment….
… Instead of working ON my business - giving me the flexibility to identify opportunities and grow my income - which only happens when you’re intentional about putting systems in place that provide predictability and prevent things from falling through the cracks.
         “AH HA” #1 -  I realized that being intentional about implementing systems and processes is crucial for long term success. Because as a real estate entrepreneur, there are way too many moving parts in your business to just operate by the seat of your pants.

         “AH HA” #3 - I realized that to truly take things to the next level in any aspect of life – personal growth has to be paramount. By doing so, better results in business and your personal life are inevitable.
